🇺🇸 U.S. Escalates the Conflict 💥
The United States has now entered the conflict alongside Israel by launching airstrikes on three nuclear sites in Iran. But as Ben Norton points out, this confrontation didn’t begin with that move—the U.S. was already deeply involved when Israel initiated its aggressive campaign, with Washington’s full support.
Donald Trump ordered direct U.S. strikes after backing Israel’s initial bombings, effectively turning the crisis into a region-wide military escalation. Tehran has already declared it will retaliate against U.S. targets. With over 40,000 American troops stationed across West Asia (the Middle East) and dozens of military bases in striking range, the risk of a broader, more destructive confrontation is high.
☢️ Not Just About Nukes
This conflict is not simply about Iran’s nuclear program or regional security. U.S. intelligence agencies had previously concluded that Iran was not pursuing nuclear weapons—but this military escalation may push Tehran in that direction.
🎯 Imperial Goals in the Region
According to Norton, the deeper motives behind the attacks reflect a much broader imperial strategy by the U.S. and Israel. Their true objectives include:
- Preserving U.S. dominance in West Asia (the Middle East)
- Crushing the Axis of Resistance (Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas and other allied groups)
- Destabilizing Iran’s independent, revolutionary government leading to regime change
- Preventing Iran from ever developing nuclear capabilities
- Establishing the total colonization over Palestine
🌍 Global Strategy for U.S. Supremacy
On a global scale, Washington is also working to:
- Secure the petrodollar and bolster financial supremacy
- Slow the international shift away from the U.S. dollar
- Weaken the BRICS alliance and divide the Global South
- Split the rising Iran-Russia-China bloc that challenges American power
- Advance the ultimate goal of isolating Beijing
🧭 A Campaign for Global Hegemony
In short, the aggression against Iran is not just a localized military conflict—it’s part of a larger geopolitical effort to sustain U.S. hegemony in an increasingly multipolar world.
