Event Overview

Jan. 31, 2024 marks the closure of My Health LA, the county’s no-cost health care program for low-income residents. As of Jan.1, 2024, California has expanded Medi-Cal, the state’s version of Medicaid, to all low-income individuals between ages 26-49, regardless of immigration status. This means that all who depended upon My Health LA for health care can now receive Medi-Cal.

This briefing, cosponsored by My Health LA and the California Department of Health Care Services, will explore what that transition means for health care access overall, especially for those who never had health care insurance in the past, and what LA County residents need to do to enroll.
