Climate scientist Daniel Swain will be a special guest of this week’s Friday Zoom news briefing to explain what is shaping up to be an historic El Nino that he predicts will change weather patterns across California and the U.S. 

Swain specializes in the dynamics and impacts of extreme weather and climate events on a warming planet. He is an associate researcher at the California Institute for Water Resources, University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR) and research partner with the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research. He hosts a weekly live “public office hours” on Weather West YouTube.
